Choosing the right inner lining for any kind of furniture is always a long and delicate matter... Will it fit? Will I like, regret, etc...? Whatever... A few weeks ago I detailed in this post a long list of antiques I could get from last removal. So we have this old trunk in the family since ever; it has been purchased at Lechner warehouses in Geneva, Switzerland and finally gifted to my mother in late 50ies. She then used it as luggage for years, hence last trip stickers still on it: price, destination and delivery place...
Over the years it was the perfect storage for linen, fabric and cloths. Due to humidity the interior side is quite damaged and therefore needs to be fixed. Wallpaper is peeling off and the whole piece looks a mess (see pictures). I have decided to line with a linen fabric and wax the outside.
