The green console

Hi,
Today I bring you my recent makeover in terms of aging wood!
I have this recycled wood console with me for while. The shape is OK; the quality isn't high level though.

Painting beams

Last winter, friends of ours asked me to paint a few beams for their tailored-made coffee table. Every single beam had to fit perfectly in the metal structure.
I thought it would be interesting to paint both side of the beams, just in case they would like to change and update their living room decor.

The pantry table

www.annecharriere.com, pantry table, farmhouse style, homestead house milk paint,

Just before Christmas I rescued this wonderful farmhouse pantry table from a garage sale. This is the typical primitive table you can find anywhere in Spanish farms. You just had to lift the drawer to store food; I love it!

Waxed table show for boho chic store

This is a waxed table work on an antique farmhouse table.  Damage was not really severe but urgently needed a great clean, sand, wax and patina. It was due to be shown in a store as a counter top.

The whole place experienced an extreme and unique makeover in terms of deco.  Firstly the laminated floor was removed giving place to a wonderful polished cement. Walls were then whitewashed with lime; false ceiling went off too and steel grids were fixed instead to sustain natural fabric lamps. The aim was to re-use industrial elements for the decor. Rolling corrugated steel bars (used in construction) and wooden planks have been used for hanging shelves.  Adding a few white sprayed branches of olive trees the place now looks like a typical Andalusian penthouse surrounded by local nature. Coming back to the antique table: once cleaned, sanded and protected I waxed (les Antiquaires wax) with heat gun and obtained a great patina. It stands now in the shop and the mixture of industrial elements combine perfectly with boho chic style of the articles.

Kitchen island

KITCHEN ISLAND:
DESIGN &
CONSTRUCTION

We were thinking about a kitchen island for a while; just to sit and have breakfast or a quick lunch… Taken from rubble materials we thought a recycled solid wood beam will be fine.
We ordered a simple pine wood base and asked the carpenter to fix the old beam pieces on the top. I recycled a kitchen cabinet which I used so far for a paint and products storage unit on the terrace.

I have used a different technique for aging the pine wood base ; it hasn't represented the same difficulty for the beam as the whole piece had been exposed against weather, hence this old aspect. The project is eventually completed and fits perfect in the kitchen.

My dining table

Here is the makeover of my dining table. This asian red wood had been varnished industrially, hence the shinny effect.  The idea was turning the "blink" aspect into a rustic vintage tone as well as enhancing the brightness in the room.

My outdoor table

I've thought about a simple and very customised design to replace my outdoor table: two scaffolding planks of woods and a basic steel base. I was pretty much inspired from TV shows where rubble materials are necessary.

Spool table

A functionnal table from a cable spool...
The wood was in bad shape when I found this electric reel. The entire piece had been exposed to the moisture and was a bit damaged.
However after a long and hard sanding/painting work/wood treatment coating, I could finally obtain a very great table for my outdoor.

Homemade coffe table

It's been a long time since I was interested in this Becara's design for a coffee table, which stopped me was the price (1.800€)...

Until the day we had a brilliant idea for the design: from solid oak floorboards and a metal reinforced metal base.
